Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Reza Ansari Mahallati:

Need Analysis, A Positive Aspect of Recent Quran Interpretations

Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, people’s views about religious and Quranic issues changed and new Quran interpretations were written based on these changes, a Quran scholar told IQNA.

Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Reza Ansari Mahallati added that writing interpretations in accordance with the present-day needs of society has been a positive aspect of Quran interpretation in recent years.

The Quran researcher and translator noted that numerous Quran exegeses have been written, in either Arabic or Persian in the past decades, including the Javan (youth) Exegesis for the teenagers and youths, and the Noor (light) Interpretation by Hojat-ol-Islam Qara’ati.

He said there are various institutes in Qom whose scholars and researchers are working to write Quran exegeses, naming the Center for Quranic Culture and Teachings Center as an example.

Hojat-ol-Islam Ansari Mahallati further highlighted the need for interpreters to take verses of the Quran and Hadiths by Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) into account while interpreting the Quran.

He stressed that the Hadiths that interpreters refer to in their Quran exegesis must be authenticated.
