Donating Quran Translations to Confront Quran Desecration

Cultural deputy of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization Hojat-ol-Islam Ahmad Sharafkhani said his organization’s strategy to confront desecration of the Quran is donating Quran translations in different languages.

Speaking in a forum on Thursday at the 25th Tehran International Book Fair, he said the organization has dedicated a bank account to receive people’s donations in order to purchase and send Quran translations to different parts of the world.

The forum was organized by IQNA’s literature desk at the Saraye Ghalam hall of the book fair with the participation of Hojat-ol-Islam Sharafkhani and head of Awqaf Department of North Tehran Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi Kiyayi.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Sharafkhani regarded Waqf (religious donation) as a Divine gift and many people are not aware of the great importance of this religious deed.

He also highlighted the role of Waqf in promotion of the book reading culture, saying there are many libraries in the country that have been founded through Wafq.
